Have you ever felt like your relationships or sense of self fall short of what you truly long for? Maybe there’s a deep longing for connection or a sense of being seen and understood, but it feels just out of reach. You might find yourself caught in patterns or emotions that don’t seem to fully make sense, leaving you questioning who to trust - perhaps even wondering if you can trust yourself. Mental health struggles like anxiety, depression, or past trauma can often get in the way of your ability to experience happiness and form the deep, meaningful relationships you want.
But here’s the thing: safety and security in relationships are not only a biological need but an evolving, life-long quest. And it’s never too late to start. In therapy, we’ll work together to unravel and rewrite the stories you’ve been carrying—whether it’s about attachment wounds, trauma, or struggles with self-esteem and identity.
My Approach to Therapy
Therapy with me focuses on emotional transformation, not just insight. I value autonomy, creating a space where you feel understood and respected while discovering what’s true for you. If you feel that your emotions or needs are too overwhelming, I’ll help you unpack coping mechanisms and build a compassionate, non-judgmental relationship with yourself. I also value authenticity, believing that secure attachment relies on being real with one another. Together, we’ll create a space to experience the complexities of human connection, where you can be your true self without the pressure to perform. When we practice letting our real self be present in relationships - whether with ourselves or others - we develop connections secure enough to handle the messiness, contradictions, and beautiful complexities of being human.
What Therapy Looks Like
In therapy with me, our focus is on building a trusting relationship where we explore how your past experiences shape the way you interact with yourself and others today. Together, we’ll examine your attachment needs, coping mechanisms, and the stories that might keep you stuck. Through this process, we’ll work on creating emotional shifts that foster new beliefs and empower you to form a secure relationship with yourself and healthier ways to engage with the world.
My Practice
I have over four years of experience, am a Certified Trauma Professional, and am currently pursuing a PhD in Clinical Counseling at Trevecca University. My therapeutic approach combines Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), EMDR, and Brainspotting to support lasting emotional change. Outside of therapy, I enjoy organizing my color-coded bookshelf, indulging in reality TV, and enjoying nature through hiking and kayaking. I value authenticity, open-mindedness, and autonomy in both my personal and professional life.
I am committed to being an advocate to those in underrepresented and marginalized communities, including the LGBTQIA+ community, neurodivergent individuals, and those experiencing racial and social inequities. In our work together, my priority is to create a space where you can feel authentically seen, heard, and respected. I recognize that safety in therapy is not just something I provide - it is something we co-create and continually evolve. Your identity, your experiences, and your voice matter, and I am here to support you in navigating this experience together.
I work with individuals and couples both in-person at my Brentwood office and virtually across the state of TN. I have availability on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Feel free to contact me by phone or email to schedule a free consultation call. I would be happy to discuss how we can support you in starting this process.
