Jenny lokey M.A., LPC-MHSP (TEMP)
Hi there - I'm Jenny! I help women struggling with post-grad transitions and “quarter-life crises”.
Navigating the many changes and responsibilities that come with early adulthood can be really stressful. Maybe you’re financially independent for the first time, your college friendships have changed, or you're questioning the degree you got and career you chose. Maybe you long for a spouse and yet keep striking out when it comes to dating. If you’re in a place where you feel anxious, lost, and like you have no idea what you’re doing with your life, know that you’re not alone and I’d love to help you find a new way forward.
I use a narrative and trauma-informed lens with my clients. Much of our work together will involve understanding how your story impacts the way you show up in the world and in your relationships. We’ll also work to connect mind, body, and heart so you can better access your emotions and get your needs met in a healthy way. I also welcome and encourage my clients to incorporate their faith in the therapeutic process as they see fit, or not at all - I’ll follow your lead.
Originally from Massachusetts, I moved to Nashville in 2010 to attend Belmont University and pursue a career in the music business. Upon graduation, I was lucky enough to work at a record label in town before transitioning to work at Belmont where I’ve spent the bulk of my 10-year career prior to completing my M.A. in Mental Health Counseling. Because of my history in and adjacent to the music industry, I enjoy working with clients who are in the field and are navigating the unique challenges that come with it.
If any of this resonates with you and it feels like we may be a good fit, I’d love to hear from you. Feel free to call or email and I will respond within 24-48 hours.
Clinical Focus: Women’s Issues, Work/Life Balance, Anxiety/Stress Management, Relationship Issues, Personal Growth, Music Industry Professionals, Christian Women
About Me:
I’ve been married to my best friend, Brooks, since 2019 and we’ve been together for almost a decade. I started my own counseling journey several years ago thanks to his encouragement, and it was a turning point for me. The counseling process, in combination with my faith, helped me understand my story and begin to develop healthier patterns so I could live more genuinely; it also sparked a passion to help others experience the gift therapy can offer. All this to say, I deeply believe in the therapeutic process from my experience on both sides of the couch. In my free time, I can usually be found with Brooks and/or loved ones, taking classes at Orangetheory, or curled up with a book under a cozy blanket. I also love cheering on the New England Patriots and Tennessee Titans, rewatching The Office for the millionth time, and spending time with my family in Massachusetts as often as I can.
