Renee Lackey, M.A., NCC, LPC-MHSP (Temp)
Hi! My name is Renee Lackey. I am a mom of two beautiful children, and I know how wonderful parenting can be, but also how challenging it can be at times. I specialize in children, adolescents, families, and parenting. I am also trained in EMDR for ages 3 and up.
I know that children often experience scary, confusing, upsetting, and traumatic things. You may see your child struggling with negative self-talk, anger, sadness, trouble at school, trouble with siblings, difficulty with emotions, divorce, or loss of a loved one. As a parent, you may have read several books and articles, and still feel lost on how to help. I promise you that there is hope. I work with your child and family to provide a path for growth and build a stronger connection. Parents will learn how to be co-regulators, understand their children better, and how to set boundaries and deal with big behaviors.
We will collaborate to determine what your goals are and how best to reach them. I know for some children it can be difficult to find words or be uncomfortable sharing our unique stories. I help my clients do this nonverbally or verbally by providing a safe, reparative, and relational experience.
I meet your child and family where you are to move toward healing and understanding. I will help you all learn the necessary skills to live, love, learn, and thrive! I help your child build resilience by learning coping skills, increasing social skills and self-esteem, creating secure attachments with their caregivers, understanding their stress responses, how to self-regulate, and emotional literacy.
I offer a judgment-free zone with compassion and acknowledge that there is no perfect parent. I will not only be here for your child, but I will be here for you as their parent. I admire your courage and bravery in reaching out and wanting to ask for help.
If you have any questions, please give me a call, or send me an email.
I can’t wait to hear from you.
